HOW WATER SOFTENERS WORK
Step 1:
Water enters the exclusive rugged control valve and flows down through the water softeners resin tank.
Step 2:
The water is treated as it passes through the resin. Hardness molecules are retained by the resin, and exchanged for softer sodium molecules.
Step 3:
Once the ion exchange is complete, the soft water exits the resin tank through the riser pipe, out the control valve, and into the home.
Step 4:
When the ion exchange can no long take place, the unit begins a regeneration process. Using a brine solution as a regenerate, the retained hardness ions are released, and flushed down the drain.
